iOS 6 Incoming!

Ok, so everyone has been talking about this upcoming "iPhone 5" for over a year now, and is so excited about it coming out, myself included, right? Well, along with all this fanfare, lots of people are forgetting a very crucial, and although not as equalling exciting, part of the IPhone infrastructure : iOS 6!

At WWDC 2012, in California this past Summer, I was really excited to see what Apple had in store with iOS 6. Sadly I was genuinely disappointed with what I saw. In my opinion iOS 5 was and probably will be the biggest update to iOS followed by iOS 4 and then iOS 6. See the decline, while Android continues at a steady incline in features and UI attractiveness?

So let's be honest, iOS 6 doesn't really bring many new things to the table, it just kind of refined and fine turned the features that were lacking to bring them up to comepetitor's standards. Now, there are some really cool things that will be added such as: the new Maps app, built from the ground up by Apple, and the further additions and implications of SIri. To me this should've been a build upgrade (e.g. 5.2).

Also, if you haven't noticed already, iOS 6 is solely cellular device oriented! That meaning, most of the new features and apps that will be added require an internet connection to utilize them. Applications such as : Maps, Siri, Passbook, and FaceTime require are a great example of this.

All that said, what do you ,as a consumer, think about the upcoming release of iOS 6. Has Apple dropped the ball? Or, have they delivered? Give us your thoughts below in the comments section.
